NFL - National football league.
So why do the idiots refer to the Super Bowl winners as the 'world' champions when -
a. National means within your own border
b. No other country is allowed to enter
Same applies to the world series baseball.
Surely when the World cup was held there a few years back they were aware that other countries entered the competition hence the reason for calling it the World cup?
Mind you, when an idiot like Trump is actually taken seriously running for President +they elected GW twice what the fuck do you expect.

they are campaigning to get American football in the Olympics which will be even more of a joke than the basketball which they just have all the worlds best players on the same team

Fair enough, as if any teams entered from any other countries they'd be fucking annihilated anyway.
Guessing the same goes for Ice Hockey, as I'm sure all the decent ruskies probably play in the US/Canada.

World Series should be open to all the major baseball countries besides Canada, Venezuela, Japan, Cuba etc

No one has ever mentioned this before
but you are wrong about the World Series
First Canadians can enter (also the NBA)
Second it originates from sponsorship of the first one by the Daily World.
However they do have a tendency to over-exaggerate

I've never seen the Super Bowl winners referred to as world champions.
